Abstract

"Die sozialversicherungspflichtige Beschäftigung hat sich in den vergangenen zehn Jahren regional sehr unterschiedlich entwickelt: Die Spannweite reicht von einem Rückgang um 26 Prozent bis zu einem Zuwachs von 22 Prozent. Die noch vor einigen Jahren sehr ausgeprägten Unterschiede zwischen West- und Ostdeutschland werden zunehmend von Disparitäten innerhalb beider Landesteile überlagert. Neben regionalen Faktoren wie der Stärke der lokalen Märkte und dem Branchenmix beeinflussen auch Größe, Alter und Innovationsfreudigkeit der örtlichen Betriebe die Beschäftigungsentwicklung einer Region."
