Abstract

This article attempts to present some of the controls followed in the management and urban organisation of industrial spaces, taking the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, the Metropolitan Area of Madrid and some countries of the E. E. C. as its point of reference. The first section expounds some initial ideas which condition and orientase the subject dealt with here. In the second, specific experiences in the territory of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country are considered, such as the Industrialdeak Programme the Elkartegiak Programme and the Technological Park which illustrate the approach which is being given at present to the management and organisation of the industrial areas covered. For the Metropolitan Area of Madrid, more than presenting experiences, a diagnosis is made of its activities and include the proposals presentes by the Department for Territorial Policy. Afterwards, a descripcion is made of the regulations in force and the applications followed by some countries such as France, the United Kingdom, the German Federal Republic and Italy. Finally, some conclusions deriving from the treatment of the subject are offered.
