Investigation of fluid flow and heat transfer in a vertical channel heated from one side by PV elements, part II - Experimental study

Abstract

In this paper the findings are reported from an experimental study of the heat transfer and flow created between two vertical parallel walls heated from one side. In the laboratory a mock up of a facade provided with photovoltaic elements (PV) was built. Surface and air temperatures were recorded. The flow rate was recorded with tracer gas technique. The behaviour at different uniform heat fluxes with either both ends open or the top provided with a 1 cm gap were tested. In Part I of this paper the findings from a numerical study of the same wall are reported.
