Digital finance, green development and high-quality development of the tourism industry

Abstract

This paper systematically examines the impact mechanism of digital finance on the high-quality development of tourism and the mediating effect of green development based on panel data of prefecture-level cities in China from 2012 to 2023. The research indicates that: digital finance has a direct positive impact on promoting the high-quality development of tourism; green development plays a significant mediating role between digital finance and the high-quality development of tourism; regional heterogeneity tests show that the enabling effect of digital finance is particularly prominent in the western region, significantly higher than that in the eastern and central regions.
