International trade disputes, trade protection, and corporate export resilience

Abstract

Based on data from Chinese export enterprises from 2015 to 2023, this study explores the impact of international trade disputes on the export resilience of enterprises and analyzes the mediating role of export technological complexity as well as the moderating role of trade protection. The research finds that international trade disputes significantly weaken the export resilience of enterprises; export technological complexity plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between international trade disputes and export resilience. Trade protection can mitigate the impact of international trade disputes on the export resilience of enterprises.
