Anti-Unfair competition law, corporate financialization, and corporate social responsibility fulfillment

Abstract

Drawing on data from Chinese listed companies from 2011 to 2022, this article examines the relationships between the enforcement of the Anti-Unfair Competition Law (AUCL), the progression of corporate financialization, and the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Findings indicate a significant positive correlation between strict AUCL enforcement and CSR fulfillment, with market competition serving as a partial mediator. Furthermore, a higher degree of corporate financialization appears to support greater CSR engagement.
