Abstract

This study utilizes data from A-share listed companies from 2011 to 2021 to explore how the enhancement of innovation capabilities impacts corporate competitiveness and to analyze the mechanisms of this effect. The results indicate that the enhancement of innovation capabilities promotes the development of corporate competitiveness, primarily through the improvement of digital management levels and the reduction of financing constraints. Further analysis shows that the positive impact of enhanced innovation capabilities on corporate competitiveness is more significant in state-owned enterprises, companies in the eastern regions, and non-heavy pollution industries.
