Personnel policies as creator and forerunner of innovation processes

Author

Listed:
  • Meinhard Knoche

Abstract

When it comes to improving the innovative power of enterprises, good personnel policies are determining factors. Innovations come from human capital, which is a critical bottleneck in enterprises in two respects: As decision-makers human capital defines enterprise strategies, sets the future course and determines the allocation of resources; as service providers human capital is the soil in which new ideas grow and are implemented as products, services and new procedures. The more knowledge-based an enterprise is, the more human capital is the factor that determines competitiveness. This article shows how personnel policies can help enterprises into a success spiral and increase their innovative strength.
