Abstract

Since the inaugural issue published in 1992, Production and Operations Management has grown phenomenally in terms of the number of submissions and publications and journal impact factor. In this 30th‐anniversary issue of the journal, contributing authors examine the past and the future of operations management (OM) research, addressing emerging issues arising from innovations, sustainability, social responsibility, technology management, healthcare management, cybersecurity, and retail operations. This special issue includes a collection of papers intended to provide innovative ideas for readers to address new OM challenges in the future.
