Abstract

Dieses Papier untersucht die Erfahrungen mit flexiblen Renteneintrittsprogrammen im internationalen Kontext. Es zeigt sich, dass eine Subventionierung der Teilzeitbeschäftigung zwar positiv auf die Erwerbsbeteiligung älterer Arbeitnehmer wirkt, es dabei allerdings in der Regel zu einem Rückgang des für die Volkswirtschaft relevanten Arbeitsvolumens kommt. Dies liegt größtenteils daran, dass die wenigsten der hier betrachteten Rentensysteme anreizneutral sind, sondern finanzielle Nachteile für länger Arbeitende implizieren. Damit kommen zu den individuellen Präferenzen für einen frühen Renteneintritt noch die finanziellen Anreize aus dem Rentensystem.
