La Théorie de la Modernisation : un Examen Empirique en Afrique

Abstract

Cet article teste empiriquement la théorie de la modernisation pour un échantillon de pays d'Afrique. Ce travail fournit la première étude empirique des quatre déterminants de la démocratie selon la théorie de la modernisation (l'éducation, la richesse, l'urbanisation et l'industrialisation). En utilisant les techniques économétriques en panel (OLS, LSDVC et GMM) pour s'assurer de la robustesse et de la fiabilité de nos résultats, nous parvenons à démontrer que la théorie de la modernisation ne permet pas d'expliquer la dynamique négative de démocratie en Afrique.
