Abstract

Ce texte est un document technique destine aux utilisateurs de la base de donnees CHELEM-BAL. Ladite base, contenant les statistiques de balance des paiements de 184 pays sur une periode de plus de trente ans, a connu une refonte radicale en 2005. Le texte decrit les principaux traits de la refonte et expose le contenu des postes. Une place particuliere est accordee aux donnees d’echanges de services detailles au niveau plus fin du 5eme Manuel de la balance des paiements. Tout en decrivant la richesse de la base, le document decrit par ailleurs les problemes statistiques inherents a ce type d’enregistrement des echanges internationaux.
