Internationale Diversität im Top-Management — Eine empirische Analyse der DAX-30-Unternehmen

Abstract

Zusammenfassung Dass die meisten deutschen Unternehmen international agieren, ist seit langem eine Selbstverständlichkeit. Fast ausnahmslos erzielen die DA X-30-Unternehmen im Ausland höhere Umsätze als im Inland. Und bei der Mehrheit der DA X-30-Unternehmen arbeiten inzwischen mehr als die Hälfte der Mitarbeiter nicht in Deutschland. Doch wie international ist die Ebene des Top-Managements? Der Deutsche Corporate Governance Kodex empfiehlt in seiner aktuellen Fassung explizit, Diversität bei der Besetzung von Vorständen und Aufsichtsräten zu berücksichtigen. Die vorliegende Studie hat das Ziel, die internationale Diversität des Top-Managements umfassend und gleichzeitig differenziert zu erfassen. Ein neu entwickelter Index, der Internationalität nicht auf die Nationalität eines Managers beschränkt, hilft, alle DA X-30-Unternehmen zu analysieren. Dieser Index ist gleichzeitig ein Instrumentarium, welches auch weitere Unternehmen nutzen können, um ihre Corporate-Governance-Berichterstattung zu professionalisieren.
