El impacto de los videojuegos sobre las habilidades cognitivas de ninos y adolecentes en Colombia

Abstract

Diversos estudios apuntan a que, indirectamente, podría existir una relación positiva entre las habilidades cognitivas y el desarrollo económico. Uno de los factores que puede afectar dichas habilidades es la afición a los videojuegos, un tema que han estudiado diversos psicólogos, sin llegar a un consenso. Este trabajo busca aportar a la discusión desde una perspectiva diferente, empleando un modelo de regresión de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO). El trabajo emplea una muestra urbana de 1903 ninos y adolescentes para 2016, extraída de la Encuesta Longitudinal Colombiana de la Universidad de los Andes (ELCA). Pese a que, en un principio, los datos muestran una posible relación, los resultados de una serie de estimaciones sugieren que no existe un efecto causal.
