Abstract

En este trabajo se reexamina varios aspectos de la demanda por dinero en Colombia, usando series de tiempo trimestrales para el período de 1981-1993. En particular, se evalúa el uso del consumo como variable de escala alternativa al PIB, se emplea como medida del costo de oportunidad del dinero el diferencial entre la tasa de interés de los CDT a 90 días y la tasa de interés ponderada de una definición amplia del agregado monetario, y se utilizan dos modelos econométricos que garantiza la consistencia lógica de los parámetros de corto y largo plazo de la función de demanda por dinero.
