Einfluss von Windenergieanlagen auf die Entwicklung des Tourismus in Hessen

Abstract

Den Ausbau der Windenergie begleitet ein weites Spektrum an negativen Effekten. Neben der Emission von tonalem Schall oder der Gefahr für die Avifauna werden Windenergieanlagen immer häufiger für ihre landschaftsüberprägende Eigenart kritisiert. Diese primär durch die Bauhöhe sowie Rotorbewegung herbeigeführte Tatsache steht in direktem Gegensatz zur naturnahen Landschaftserfahrung, wie sie vorwiegend in den deutschen Mittelgebirgslagen im Rahmen der touristischen Naherholung erlebt wird. Allerdings gibt es bisher wenige Untersuchungen zum potentiellen Einfluss der Windkraftanlagen auf den Tourismus und diese sind zumeist wenig repräsentative Fallstudien. Der vorliegende Artikel schließt diese Lücke mit einer quantitativen empirischen Untersuchung der Beziehung von Windkraftanlagen und regionalem Tourismus in Hessen. Die Ergebnisse bestätigen die Existenz eines schwachen, aber signifikanten negativen Effekts des Windkraftanlagenausbaus auf den Tourismus.
