Aktuelle Herausforderungen für Genossenschaftsbanken: Eine Analyse der Umwelt

Abstract

Derzeit wird der deutsche Bankensektor von zahlreichen Entwicklungen mit einem noch nicht vollständig abzusehenden Inhalt und Ausmaß geprägt. Sowohl bankenmarktinterne Entwicklungen (Niedrigzinsphase, Regulierung/Aufsicht) als auch globale Entwicklungen (Digitalisierung, demografischer Wandel) gelten als wesentliche Herausforderungen für die deutschen Banken. In diesem Arbeitspapier werden diese Entwicklungen im Rahmen einer Umweltanalyse aus Sicht der deutschen Genossenschaftsbanken untersucht. Dabei wird die Wirkung der Entwicklungen auf einzelne Marktteilnehmer (aktuelle und potenzielle Wettbewerber, Kunden sowie Mitarbeiter) und auf die Wettbewerbskraft der Genossenschaftsbanken analysiert, indem diese im Hinblick auf Porters Five Forces ausgewertet werden. Die Entwicklungen im Umfeld der Genossenschaftsbanken zeigen auf allen Ebenen von Porters Five Forces ihre Wirkung und erfordern von den Genossenschaftsbanken zum Erhalt ihrer Wettbewerbskraft konkrete Maßnahmen. Insbesondere kleinere Genossenschaftsbanken sollten den aktuellen Entwicklungen aufgrund ihrer höheren Betroffenheit aktiv begegnen.
