Urbane Produktion: Ein Versuch einer Begriffsdefinition

Abstract

Urbane Produktion bezeichnet die Herstellung und Bearbeitung von materiellen Gütern in dicht besiedelten Gebieten, die häufig lokale Ressourcen und lokal eingebettete Wertschöpfungsketten nutzt. Die eigenwirtschaftlich agierenden Betriebe weisen dabei vielfach Verflechtungen mit kreativen Milieus und lokalen Dienstleistungen auf. Die Siedlungsnähe verlangt emissionsarme und ressourceneffiziente Produktions- und Transportweisen, um Nutzungskonflikte mit den Anwohnerinnen und Anwohnern zu vermeiden. Urbane Produktion bietet gewisse Potenziale hinsichtlich der Beschäftigung, (Weiter-) Bildung, Aufwertung des Umfelds und Steuereinnahmen. Trotz zurzeit laufender Forschungsprojekte lassen sich quantitative Aussagen hinsichtlich der Effekte bislang kaum treffen.
