Urbane Produktion in Deutschland ist rückläufig: Liegt dies an einer bodenmarktlichen Verdrängung?

Abstract

Auf Grundlage einzelner Fallstudien wird die bodenmarktliche Verdrängung urbaner Produktion (also der Produktions-, Handwerks- und Landwirtschaftsbetriebe in Siedlungsnähe) immer wieder postuliert. In einer bisher einzigartigen bundesweiten Analyse haben wir festgestellt, dass es zwischen 2000 und 2017 in allen Stadttypen zu einer deutlichen relativen Abnahme von Betrieben und Beschäftigten der Urbanen Produktion gekommen ist. Der dahinter vermutete bodenmarktliche Verdrängungseffekt konnte durch einen Abgleich der Entwicklung der Raumtypen (demographische sowie ökonomische Entwicklung) allerdings (noch) nicht bewiesen werden. Wir könnten uns vorstellen, dass dies in wirtschaftlichen Struktureffekten begründet liegt, dergestalt, dass der ökonomische Strukturwandel in schrumpfenden Regionen vor allem zulasten der Industriebetriebe und -arbeitsplätze geht und diese traditional noch eher in Wohnortnähe liegen. Da wir eine Ergründung der dahinterliegenden Effekte für sehr zentral halten, werden wir weiter dazu forschen!
