Flexible Working Time in Germany and its economic effects

Abstract

Vor dem Hintergrund des Beitritts Polens zur EU gewinnt die Frage einen erhöhten Stellenwert, wie die noch weitgehend starren Arbeitszeitregelungen in Polen an westeuropäische Flexibilitätsstandards angepasst werden könnten. Der vorliegende Konferenzbeitrag informiert u.a. über die Verbreitung flexibler Arbeitszeiten in Deutschland, über die wahrgenommenen und wissenschaftlich untersuchten ökonomischen Effekte der fortgeschrittenen Arbeitszeitflexibilisierung und insbesondere über das Arbeitszeitmanagement mit Arbeitszeitkonten, das ein hohes Ausmaß von Arbeitszeitflexibilisierung an wechselnde Beschäftigungslagen verspricht und für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von Unternehmen von erheblicher Bedeutung ist.
