Abstract

This research aims to compare the influence of academic leadership on students in the Faculty of Engineering (FIULS) and the Faculty of Social, Business, and Legal Sciences (FACSEJ) at the University of La Serena, Chile, between men and women. A relational model with eleven hypotheses is proposed, using structural equations through the partial least squares method. The calculations show, as the most relevant result, the difference between both genders in the impact of the variable Trust on the Active Role, which was 0.677 for men and 0.268 for women. It is concluded that it is important to promote the development of academic leadership that aims to deepen teaching and the formative development of undergraduate students with a gender perspective, in order to narrow this gap between both groups.
