Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of teachers' transformational leadership on the emotional intelligence (EI) of female students at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of La Serena, Chile. A relational model with ten hypotheses is proposed, using structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) on a sample of 296 students (with a focus on the answers from a group of 88 female students). The results indicate that intellectual stimulation is a consequence of the positive influence of idealized influence and individualized consideration, explaining 56.0% of its variance. Furthermore, intellectual stimulation positively impacts stress management, while mood serves as a strong predictor for both interpersonal and intrapersonal intelligence. It is concluded that fostering specific leadership behaviors is relevant for empowering female students and strengthening their professional competencies
