Abstract

Many Nobel Prize winners in economics have created or joined the ECAAR Association ("Economists Against Arms Race", which has since become "Economists Allied for arms reduction"), with a view to bringing together forces of non-xenophobic political tendencies to support the forces of peace, particularly in the economic order. If the dominant thought still considers that capitalism and market economies are the most efficient system to restore the forces of peace, other economists point out that globalization can also lead to effects of domination, a new form of war, engaged by states and multinational companies for an unequal sharing of world production. It is therefore necessary to find cooperative solutions, beyond even long-term doctrinal convictions, so that, in the short term, the forces of war may be appeased.
