Abstract

Economists must make their contribution to reducing the economic and political tensions that are shaking the world after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The economic and social consequences of disarmament, which could lead to regional and sectorial crises dangerous to peace itself, must be determined. ECCAR economists have engaged in both theoretical and pragmatic reflection to find partial solutions to a global disarmament process that is still very fragile, despite the crisis of the USSR's military-industrial complex.
