Abstract

IL EST MAINTENANT pratiquement certain qu'une monnaie unique sera mise en place en Europe en 1999 et que l'UEM regroupera la quasi-totalité des pays de l'UE (soit 11 sur quinze, le Royaume- Uni, le Danemark, la Suède ayant choisi de rester à l'écart et la Grèce n'étant de toute évidence pas prête). Reste que des questions délicates quant à l'organisation des politiques économiques n'ont pas été résolues : comment rendre compatible une politique monétaire unique avec des conjonctures spécifiques, des politiques budgétaires autonomes, des marchés du travail différenciés, des structures économiques différentes ? (...).
