Auswirkungen des zusätzlichen Incoming-Tourismus während der FIFA WM 2006 auf die gesamtwirtschaftliche Entwicklung

Abstract

Vom 9.Juni bis zum 9.Juli 2006 wird vom Deutschen Fußball-Bund (DFB) in Deutschland die FIFA WM 2006 ausgerichtet. In der öffentlichen Diskussion wird in diesem Zusammenhang sehr häufig neben der sportlichen Dimension dieses Megaevents auch seine ökonomische Dimension betont. Nach Einschätzung von Exprten liegt der ökonomische Nutzen insbesondere in dem angestrebten Imagegewinn für Deutschland, der sich sowohl aus der globalen multimedialen Verbreitung des Events als auch durch die zusätzlichen Einnahmen im Zuge des Incoming-Tourismus während der Dauer der FIFA WM 2006 ergibt. Daneben haben natürlich auch die getätigten Investitionen zur Modernisierung und zum Ausbau der Infrastruktur in Stadien, Verkehr, Kommunikation etc. nachhaltig positive gesamtwirtschaftliche Effekte. In Abschnitt 2 wird dazu ein kurzer Überblick gegeben. Mit Blick auf das bevorstehende WM-Jahr 2006 wird im Rahmen dieser Analyse schwerpunktmäßig aufgezeigt, welche gesamtwirtschaftliche Effekte von den Ausgaben der zusätzlichen ausländischen Besucher während der WM zu erwarten sind.
