Abstract

Contrary to the impression given by the Sewell Report, there has been little change in disparities in pay, employment and unemployment among different ethnic groups in the UK over the past 25 years. Indeed, as analysis of Labour Force Survey data by Alan Manning and Rebecca Rose shows, for black, Pakistani and Bangladeshi men and women, pay gaps with white men and women have widened.
