Abstract

Leadership is one of the most important critical success factors of OPEX in almost every empirical study the authors have pursued over the past 20 years. This chapter covers the importance of leadership, its traits, and the styles required for the successful introduction, implementation, and deployment of OPEX. As the authors of the book have conducted adequate research on this topic, the chapter offers guidelines for effective leadership and explains how the interplay between organisational culture and leadership is an essential ingredient for the sustainability of OPEX.
