Abstract

In this paper we examine the associations between worker representation (i.e. in unions and works councils), employee involvement/innovative work practices, and various indicators of firm performance. The two themes of workplace representation and innovative workplace practices have historically been analyzed separately, although in recent years they have shown more overlap.
