Menschenrechte und Lieferketten. Ein Überblick über Sorgfaltspflichten entlang von Lieferketten in österreichischen Unternehmen

Abstract

Ausgehend von der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen aus dem Jahr 1948 sind Menschenrechte zu einem festen Bestandteil des Handelns von Staaten und Unternehmen geworden. Diese Studie gibt einen Überblick über die Entwicklung der rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen für die Einhaltung von Menschenrechten entlang von Lieferketten und stellt die internationalen Handelsverflechtungen von österreichischen Unternehmen in vulnerablen Sektoren mit fragilen Ländern dar. Aufbauend auf dem Stand der Umsetzung von Unternehmenspraktiken zur Wahrung von Menschenrechten in österreichischen Lieferketten werden Maßnahmen zur Stärkung der Umsetzung der Einhaltung von Sorgfaltspflichten, insbesondere Menschenrechten, entlang von Lieferketten kurz diskutiert.
