Abstract

Nach zwei Rezessionsjahren in Folge wuchs die österreichische Wirtschaft 2025 wieder leicht. Während Bundesländer mit stärkerer Tourismus- und Dienstleistungsorientierung überdurchschnittlich expandierten, blieben etliche Industrieregionen im Rückstand. Laut WIFO-Schnellschätzung verzeichneten sieben von neun Bundesländern ein Wachstum der realen Bruttowertschöpfung; das Burgenland, Tirol, Vorarlberg, Salzburg und Wien lagen über dem österreichischen Durchschnitt, Kärnten und Niederösterreich erlitten als einzige Bundesländer Einbußen. Von der Sachgütererzeugung gingen erstmals wieder positive Wertschöpfungsimpulse aus, die Beschäftigung schrumpfte in diesem Sektor aber weiter. Wien verzeichnete mit +1,1% den höchsten Beschäftigungsanstieg in der Gesamtwirtschaft, während in der Steiermark, in Kärnten und in Oberösterreich die aktiv unselbständige Beschäftigung rückläufig war. Die Zahl der Arbeitslosen nahm 2025 in allen Bundesländern zu.
