Die Arbeitskräftewanderung aus acht neuen EU-Ländern seit der Arbeitsmarktöffnung

Abstract

Die Zahl der Arbeitskräfte aus den acht neuen EU-Ländern Estland, Lettland, Litauen, Polen, Tschechien, Slowakei, Slowenien und Ungarn in Österreich erhöhte sich in den ersten zwölf Monaten nach Gewährung der Freizügigkeit (Mai 2011 bis April 2012) um 29.493. Vor allem ins Burgenland und auch in die anderen Regionen Ostösterreichs wanderten überdurchschnittlich viele Arbeitskräfte zu. In Süd- und Westösterreich war diese Zuwanderung hingegen unterdurchschnittlich. Der Nettozuwanderung standen deutlich höhere Bruttoströme gegenüber: Im Zeitraum Mai 2011 bis April 2012 nahmen 75.510 Arbeitskräfte aus den acht neuen EU-Ländern erstmals ein Arbeitsverhältnis in Österreich an. Nur gut die Hälfte von ihnen waren aber am 30. April 2012 noch auf dem österreichischen Arbeitsmarkt aktiv.
