Externe Defizite der Transformationsländer niedriger als befürchtet. Die Wirtschaft der Oststaaten 1997/98

Abstract

1997 erreichten die führenden ostmitteleuropäischen Transformationsländer im Durchschnitt ähnlich gute Wirtschaftsergebnisse wie ein Jahr zuvor. In Polen und der Slowakei waren die Investitionen weiter lebhaft, in Ungarn wurde das Wachstum zusätzlich von dynamisch steigenden Exporten getragen. Tschechiens Wirtschaft geriet als Folge hoher Leistungsbilanzdefizite bei anhaltender realer Aufwertung in eine Krise. Mit Ausnahme Polens und Kroatiens war das Leistungsbilanzdefizit 1997 in allen ostmitteleuropäischen Ländern rückläufig. Aufgrund restriktiver Wirtschaftspolitik wird sich das Wirtschaftswachstum 1998 und 1999 in den meisten ostmitteleuropäischen Transformationsländern, mit Ausnahme Ungarns und Sloweniens, verlangsamen. Bulgariens Wirtschaft könnte sich stabilisieren. Die Entwicklung in Rumänien, Rußland und der Ukraine ist weiterhin ungewiß.
