Item Response Models In Psychological Evaluation - Research Project

Abstract

Around the 50's and 60's of the last century it is shaping up in the field of evaluations! psychological, of psychometry in general, a new trend thanks to the pioneering work of three formidable scientists. These are the psychometrician Frederic M. Lord from the Educational Evaluation Service, the Danish mathematician Georg Rasch and the Austrian sociologist Paul Lazarsfeld. Although initially the research was conducted independently, it eventually led to what we now call the "Item Response Theory." The concept also known as "Latent Factor Theory", "Real Score Theory" or "Modern Theory of the Mental Test" is a model for designing, analyzing and scoring tools for measuring skills, attitudes or other variables. (Hambleton , Swaminathan, & Rogers, 1991)
