Teachers occupational stress

Stress can have serious consequences on the health of teachers, but also on those with whom teachers interact - students, colleagues, parents and family members. In this context, in-depth research is needed on teacher stress and the identification of concrete prevention and adaptation measures. This research proposes the investigation of variables that may have an effect on occupational stress. Numerous studies have been conducted that investigate the effects of certain personality traits on how occupational stress is perceived at the individual level and on the coping methods adopted. The present study seeks to highlight the link between occupational stress, conscientiousness, emotional stability, personal autonomy and extraversion. Making correlations can demonstrate that certain personality traits can create vulnerability to stress while other personality factors can influence how the person chooses to cope with stress. This research can help identify teachers vulnerable to the negative consequences of stress and implement appropriate coping strategies.
