Explorando la heterogeneidad en el empleo mediado por plataformas digitales: intensidad y localización

Abstract

Este artículo analiza las características del empleo mediado a través de plataformas digitales en contraposición al empleo tradicional para 14 países de la Unión Europea, explorando qué características socio-laborales y demográficas tienen estos crowd-workers y si éstas se acentúan en algunos tipos de actividades, grupos de trabajadores o incluso en algunos países, tratando de disminuir el pixelado de algunos trabajos previos. De nuestro análisis parece desprenderse que determinados hechos estilizados ligados a ciertos factores demográficos, educativos o socio-laborales que son comunes en la mayor parte de estudios sobre el empleo en plataformas digitales admiten matices cuando tenemos en cuenta esta heterogeneidad. Especialmente llamativo resulta el análisis de estas características cuando dividimos a los que responden a estos “call for tenders” atendiendo a si es su actividad principal o no o en función de que presten sus servicios vía web –on web–, o de manera presencial –onlocation–.
