Abstract

Competition in the digital “jungle” is constantly increasing. Almost every day, consumers worldwide search for various products, services, companies, information, and advice and get the required data in a few seconds. They usually browse and read the results that appear on the first page of search engines, such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. They rarely open websites on the second, third, fourth, or other subsequent pages. It is where SEO helps companies; that is, always when users search, companies’ websites to appear on the first page of search engines. This paper aims to help entrepreneurs in the digital sphere to use this tool that will provide them with greater visibility, more traffic to their site, more leads and sales and business growth. Based on secondary data, the paper aims to explain the functioning of SEO, its elements, the keyword strategies, and content marketing, as well as its weaknesses and challenges. It will present some interesting aspects of the SEO application. Finally, the paper ends with a description of SEO trends and directions of its development.
