Der Einfluss der Wechselkursentwicklung auf die schweizerischen Warenexporte: eine disaggregierte Analyse

Abstract

Angesichts der massiven Aufwertung des Schweizerfrankens im letzten Jahr stellt sich die Frage nach den Konsequenzen für die Entwicklung der Exporte. Bei der Untersuchung dieser Problematik berücksichtigen wir, dass sich Wechselkursschwankungen je nach Branche unterschiedlich auswirken können. Entsprechend führen wir nach Absatzländern und Warenarten differenzierte ökonometrische Schätzungen durch. In der Tat stellen wir eine starke Heterogenität der Wechselkurselastizität fest. Es zeigt sich zudem, dass der Wechselkurseffekt insgesamt nicht so stark ist, wie vielfach vermutet wird. Dies ist wohl darauf zurückzuführen dass in manchen Branchen der nichtpreisliche Wettbewerb im Vordergrund steht. Auf der anderen Seite zeigt die Analyse, dass die Entwicklung der Exporte in hohem Mass von der Auslandsnachfrage beeinflusst wird. Vor dem Hintergrund dieser Resultate überrascht es nicht, dass sich die schweizerischen Exporte trotz der sehr starken und schnellen Aufwertung bis zuletzt günstig entwickelt haben.
