Abstract

In this paper, the two-stage procedure of Simar and Wilson (2007) is used to estimate the technical efficiency of French regional airports from 2000-2008, a period during which the country embraced reforms in airports organization. In the first stage, the airports’ relative efficiency is estimated with DEA (data envelopment analysis) to establish the airports that perform most efficiently. In the second stage, the Simar and Wilson (2007) procedure is used to bootstrap the DEA scores with a truncated regression. Economic implications arising from the study are also considered.
