Sermaye yapısı teorilerinin geçerliliğinin test edilmesi: Panel veri analizi kullanılarak İMKB-imalat sektörü üzerinde ampirik bir uygulama

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı sermaye yapısı teorilerinin geçerliliğinin İMKB-imalat sektörü için test etmektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 1998–2006 dönemine ilişkin veriler 3 farklı model kullanılarak panel regresyon yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, sermaye yapısı ile karlılık arasındaki negatif yönlü ve sermaye yapısı ile büyüme arasındaki pozitif yönlü ilişki, finansal hiyerarşi teorisi ile uyumlu çıkarken, sermaye yapısı ile büyüklük arasındaki pozitif yönlü ilişki ise statik dengeleme teorisiyle uyumlu çıkmıştır. Maddilik ise sadece kısa vadeli borcun kullanıldığı modelde istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır. Vergi ve borç dışı vergi kalkanı değişkeni tüm modellerde istatistiksel olarak anlamsız çıkmıştır. Bu bulgulardan yola çıkarak Türkiye'deki firmaların sermaye yapılarını oluştururken optimum bir denge yakalama çabasından çok, belli bir sırayı takip ettikleri söylenebilir.
