Abstract

John Galsworthy, an English novelist and playwright, was a representative writer of English realist literature in the early 20th century, and is known for his prolific trilogy, The Forsyte Saga. In addition, he also wrote many short and medium-sized novels depicting the daily life of ordinary people, and Quality is one of the classics. There are not many essays on the novel Quality; most of them analyze it from the perspectives of postcolonial, realism and tragedy. This paper will interpret the novel from a stylistic perspective, analyzing the novel’s stylistic features at lexical, graphological, syntactic, and rhetorical levels, aiming to enrich interpretations of its thematic meaning and aesthetic value, thus contributing to a deeper understanding of literary works through stylistic perspectives.
