Abstract

This investigation aims to establish the relationship between job satisfaction, psychological contract, type of the job contract, and the years of service of a group of teachers in a private university located in Bogotá. The research is descriptive, it´s not about experimental design ex post-facto. The sample consisted of one hundred and thirteen teachers who work in an engineering department of a private university. The data shows a relation between job satisfaction and the type of job contract. There is no relation between job satisfaction and years of service, there is no relation between psychological contract and type of job contract, and there is no relation between years of service and job satisfaction. These data provide foundation to further investigations about the variables that affect the level of job satisfaction of university teachers.
