Mädchen und Jungen bekommen in Deutschland gleich viel Taschengeld

Abstract

Regelmäßig belegen Studien mit Blick auf finanzielle Aspekte Unterschiede zwischen Frauen und Männern. Hinlänglich bekannt sind etwa die Gender Gaps bei Verdiensten und Renten. Dieser Wochenbericht zeigt, dass es eine Ausnahme gibt: Beim Taschengeld sind Mädchen und Jungen in Deutschland im Durchschnitt gleichgestellt. Das gilt für alle Altersgruppen von sieben bis 19 Jahren und auch dann, wenn man die Taschengeldhöhe nach dem Einkommen der Eltern analysiert und danach, ob im Haushalt der Vater oder die Mutter das letzte Wort in finanziellen Angelegenheiten hat. Dieses Ergebnis ist durchaus bemerkenswert, denn bei anderen finanziellen Zuwendungen von Eltern an ihre Kinder, etwa bei Schenkungen und Erbschaften, wurden bereits geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede nachgewiesen.
