Sobre-educación en Cali (Colombia) ¿Desequilibrio Temporal o Permanente?: Algunas Idea, 2000-2003

Abstract

Este ensayo discute el efecto de la sobre-educación en Cali. Los resultados encontrados muestran que la sobre-educación en Cali, pues de 4077 trabajadores que se contrataron en su primer empleo a través del SENA el 58.36% de éstos estaba sobre-educado mientras que 37.34% estaba adecuadamente educado y el 4.3% se encontraba sub-educado. La sobre-educación no parece ser un desequilibrio temporal debido a la movilidad laboral o la sustituibilidad entre las diferentes formas del capital humano sino un desequilibrio permanente, en los cuales las empresas usan los títulos para escudrinar entre los trabajadores que estén sobre-educados en el mercado laboral de Cali mientras los individuos usan la estrategia de adquirir títulos con el fin de senalizar durante el periodo analizado. Este resultado parece acorde con otros estudios realizados para le mercado laboral de Cali en el 2000.
