Los orígenes de la industrialización en Colombia, 1890-1929

Abstract

A partir de 1890 fue cada vez más posible que en el país se establecieran talleres mecanizados que empleaban trabajadores asalariados, importaran ingenieros y técnicos o éstos se hicieran con la experiencia productiva misma, contaron con servicios adecuados de energia motriz (hidráulica al principio pero eléctrica cada vez más) y contaran con mercados regionales (un mercado más amplio, casi nacional vendría después de las obraspúblicas construidas entre 1921 Y 1929) suficientemente grandes y dinámicos, no solo para justificar su mera operación a escala, sino también para diversificar y ampliar el rango de procesos y actividades manufactureras y fabriles.
