Abstract

The ifo Capacity Utilisation Indicator for the German economy continued to rise in January reaching 88.4%, its highest level since 2008. Overall capacity utilisation is now 3.1 percentage points higher than its long-term average. This means that capacity over-utilisation in the German economy is growing steadily.
