Corporate Investment and Employment Plans for 2013 – Results of a Manager Survey

Abstract

On behalf of the Wirtschaftswoche, the Ifo Institute surveyed around 600 managers from manufacturing, construction, distribution and the services sector on their assessments of economic developments in 2013 and their investment and employment plans for the New Year. This article presents a selection of the survey results. According to the survey, 47% of managers expect slow growth, while around 41% see stagnation ahead. Only 12% are more pessimistic and expect gross domestic product to shrink.
