Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyse the evolution of farming locations in the European Union and to discover whether European consumers affect agricultural production costs and the location of farming basins enough to determine the geographical concentration of agriculture. Empirical analysis tends to show that farms are concentrated in geographical basins with the best access to the Community market.
