Topologien von Büroarbeit: Raumkonstruktionen in physisch-virtuellen Arbeitsarrangements

Abstract

Der Beitrag befasst sich mit der Rekonfiguration von Raum im Kontext von Wissensarbeit im Informationsraum. Dies geschieht entlang von theoretischen Ausführungen, die die Bedeutung der sozialen Konstruktion von Räumen hervorheben und dazu Raum in einer relationalen Perspektive verstehen. Da Büroarbeit, zumindest in Bezug auf den Umfang der Flexibilisierung des Arbeitsorts, aktuell am stärksten betroffen ist, wird danach gefragt, wie Wissensarbeiter:innen ihren Arbeitsraum erzeugen und welche Rolle dabei der (Arbeits-) Ort einnimmt. Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass die unmittelbare Umgebung der konkreten Arbeitsplätze im Informationsraum dabei in der einen oder anderen Weise mitwirkt. Zudem wird erwartet, dass die Gleichzeitigkeit von miteinander verwobenen Arbeitsräumen nicht ohne Konsequenzen bleibt. So fragt der Beitrag danach, was es für Menschen bedeutet, darin zu arbeiten, und welche Vorstellungen von Arbeitsplätzen und der Zusammenarbeit mit anderen sie entwickeln. Diese Fragen werden anhand von Fallbeispielen aus einer explorativen Studie zu Raumbezügen in der Arbeitswelt während der Pandemie sowie zweier älterer Studien vor allem auf Basis von Mental Maps und Interviews verfolgt.
