Innovation Measurement in Small and Medium Enterprises: A Literature Review in the Period 2014-2024

Abstract

This literature review explores how innovation is measured in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). We analyzed 30 highly cited articles from Scopus (2014-2024) to extract insights, identify trends, and evaluate measurement methods. A comprehensive review of Scopus literature focused on innovation evaluation in SMEs was conducted. After accessing databases, relevant information including publication year, research techniques, major findings, and innovation metrics was collected. The review showcases various innovation categories studied, such as product, process, marketing, organizational, and technological innovation. Assessment tools used included Likert scales, empirical models, and surveys.
